RESUMEN OBJETIVO: Diseñar y validar el contenido de un instrumento de recolección de datos por expertos, para identificar conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas en salud periodontal; para ser aplicado en una intervención educativa en salud periodontal para mujeres gestantes mediante el modelo educativo PRECEDE- PROCEED, en su fase III correspondiente al diagnóstico ambiental y conductual. MÉTODO: Se construyó un instrumento de recolección de datos que consta de 34 preguntas divididas en 3 dominios: Conocimientos, Actitudes y Prácticas, que a su vez se subdividen en 3, 4 y 4 dimensiones respectivamente. Para la validación de contenido se planteó utilizar el método DELPHI y el juicio de expertos cuya calificación se divide en 4 categorías: Suficiencia, Claridad, Coherencia y Relevancia. Se determinó la distribución de frecuencias y promedio de cada pregunta así como la recopilación de las observaciones de expertos para su respectivo análisis. RESULTADOS: De las 34 preguntas sometidas a validación de contenido y juicio de expertos en el dominio de Conocimientos se modificaron (8:12) preguntas, se eliminaron 2 y se adicionaron 2, en el dominio de Actitudes se modificaron (8:12) preguntas y se adiciono 1, en cuanto al dominio de Prácticas se modificaron (9:10) preguntas, se fusionaron 2 y se adiciono 1. El número de dimensiones se conservó generándose un nuevo instrumento de recopilación de datos con 35 preguntas. CONCLUSIONES: Las preguntas del instrumento de recolección de datos arrojaron promedios de nivel moderado a alto por lo cual su inclusión en el instrumento es válida. Sin embargo (3:34) preguntas fueron eliminadas y reemplazadas según sugerencias de los expertos. Se recomienda la continuación del proceso de validación de contenido para avanzar a la Etapa II de la propuesta de intervención educativa en salud periodontal para mujeres gestantes.

ABSTRACT OBJECTIVE: Design and validate the content of an tool of data collection by experts to identify knowledge attitudes and practices to be applied in an intervention for learning purposes on the periodontal health of pregnant women through the PRECEDE- PROCEED learning model in its III phase which corresponds with the environmental and behavioral diagnosis. METHOD: To build a data collection tool with 34 questions in three areas: knowledge, attitudes and practices, which are subdivided in 3,4 and 4 dimensions respectively. To validate the content it was decided to use the DELPHI method and the judgment of experts who are qualified in 4 Aspects: Sufficiency, clarity, coherence and relevance. The frequency distribution and averages of each question were determined and the observations of each expert were collected for analysis RESULTS: Of the 34 questions to validate the content and the judgment of experts regarding the knowledge questions (812) were modified, 2 questions were removed and 2 questions were added, regarding the attitudes questions (8:12) were modified, and 1 question was added, regarding the practices questions(9:10) were modified, two questions were combined and 1 question was added. The number of dimensions was preserved building of a new data collection tool of 35 questions. CONCLUSIONS: The questions of the data collection tool generated on average a moderate to high level response so that it is valid to include them in the tool. However the questions (3:34) were eliminated and replaced according to suggestions from experts. It is recommended to continue with the process to validate the content in order to advance to phase ii of the proposed educational intervention of the periodontal health of pregnant women.
